Enclosure pictured is a standard size Type II-D enclosure for a 6” diameter backflow preventor.

General For Type II:

            ASSE Type 1060 outdoor enclosure for 2˝” diameter and larger backflow prevention assemblies. Fabricated with .040 gauge pre-finished aluminum available in any color listed below (2). Inner wall of the enclosure is lined with 1” thick type 475 fiberglass board insulation. Enclosure is fabricated in four sections locked together with brass finish cam/sash locks allowing for easy maintenance and testing of backflow assembly. Insulated openings are provided for backflow assemblies with rising stems to allow the stems to pass through the top of the enclosure for visibility when the stems are raised.

  2. 1” thick Type 475 fiberglass board insulation. All insulation complies with the Underwriters’ Laboratory accordance UL-181 Class 1, standards for NFPA 90A and 90B and is standard in all Type II equipment enclosures.

  3. Rubatex tape insulation, placed between adjoining sections. It is used to insure a proper seal between sections and is in compliance with the following ASTM specifications:

    1. ASTM-E84

    2. ASTM C-534 Type I

    3. ASTM D-10560-SCE-41

  4. Brass Finish cam/sash locks used to lock the four sections of the enclosure together allowing easy removal of individual sections and complete access for testing and maintaining backflow assemblies.
